I'm Vickie, and together with my husband, Andy, we make up Sage and Belle Styling. I'm the face of the business, the friendly voice at the end of the phone and the fingers typing out the quotes and emails. I'm also the creative mind and person you'll meet to talk all about your ideas and dreams for your big day!

I couldn't do it without my husband though. He looks after all of our stock making sure it's sparkling clean and safely packed up to style your wedding. He irons all of the chair covers, sashes and chiffon drapes, and he launders them all after each wedding too. He's the behind-the-scenes engine that does the manual work and heavy lifting so I can focus on the pretty things!. He's a dab hand at styling too as he helps to decorate every wedding with me on the day, and he can also be found chatting to couples at wedding fairs. Together, our two halves make up a perfect whole.

We've been married 20 years and have two wonderful children and a King Charles called Rusty. We love spending time together as a family whether that be a BBQ in the garden, a trip to the cinema, a woodland walk or a family holiday to explore both our beautiful country and the wonderful world we live in.

Our styling journey

how we became sage and belle

Elegance served us well for many years and we built up a great reputation with venues and couples alike, but it was time for a change and a refresh. Something to bring us up-to-date and capture the hearts, minds and imagination of today's modern couples. And that's how Sage and Belle Styling was born. Why Sage and Belle? Well, there are a few reasons behind the name:

Our journey started in 2008 when I was helping a friend with her wedding. The venue was gorgeous but the chairs were so ugly and she was worried they'd ruin the look of her day. There weren't many places where you could hire chair covers back then, so we had some made to measure for her venue, and afterwards we started hiring them out to other couples getting married there. Yes, like a lot of small businesses, we ended up doing this by accident and our first business, Elegance Chair Covers, was born. We bought more stock of different covers to fit different styles of chairs (the stretch lycra covers didn't exist back then, so these were all made-to-measure linen covers), and before we knew it we were couriering chair covers and sashes to weddings all over the country!

We then started getting asked if we did centrepieces too. We didn't, but that didn't mean we couldn't! However, they're not quite so easy to courier, so we adjusted the business a bit and became Elegance Weddings and Events, offering full wedding decoration packages in the East Midlands and surrounding area. The days out couriering covers was over as we got hands on and started developing and perfecting our styling skills. And it's definitely a skill, no doubt about that!

Sage

- our favourite shade of green that we've always used in our business..
- the colour represents the fresh foliage that we LOVE working with.
- it also means wise, which comes from our years of styling experience.

Belle

- a nod to our daughter who was only young when we started and doing this gave us more family time, which is so important to us.
- it means beautiful in French and that's exactly what we want every wedding to be.

So, that's our story and we can't wait to hear yours!
